Jasmine & Brandon's Rock Springs Wedding | Greenville, NC, July 17, 2021

It’s been far too long since I have published a wedding blog (such is the life of being a public school teacher during the current ongoing pandemic). But now that I am stuck at home for a few days due to, of all things, an ice storm in SC, I am finally getting to catch up on my blogging!

I met Jasmine and Brandon in the Fall of 2020 at their engagement session. She is a teacher and he was an Amazon deliveryman at the time (who doesn’t love Amazon!?!), so we immediately clicked! They are the absolute sweetest couple, and it was obvious how much they loved each other in their engagement photos.

Jasmine and Brandon chose the Rock Springs Center in Greenville, NC as their venue, a beautiful event center with multiple ballrooms in the middle of sprawling fields with a pond, gazebo, and the most beautiful Crepe Myrtle trees lining their drive, which were in full bloom in mid-July! I don’t usually travel so far to photograph a wedding, but Greenville, NC is actually where I was born, so I thought it might be neat to go back to my birthplace. And I am so glad I did! Jasmine and Brandon’s families and friends were a joy to be around. They laughed, cried happy tears, hugged, and DANCED!

One of the most emotional moments I have ever photographed happened when Jasmine and her dad had their first look. She presented him with a pair of socks that said “Forever your little girl, today a bride.” Neither of them could hold back their tears as he hugged his little girl and gave her his final blessing before walking her down the aisle!

The wedding ceremony was sweet and full of joy, especially as the bride and groom and wedding party danced back down the aisle after Jasmine and Brandon were declared Mr. and Mrs. Sims! The reception was also full of surprises, especially when Jasmine and her dad busted out in a choreographed dance during their father-daughter dance. After a fun and dance-filled reception, the guys from OptiKool Illusions (who were incredible to work with) and I took Jasmine and Brandon out for some sunset portraits, right as a storm was beginning to roll in.

When I asked Jasmine and Brandon about their favorite memories of the day, Jasmine said, “It's hard for us to pick our favorite moment because our wedding was absolutely AMAZING!! Every moment of the wedding was memorable, however, there was a moment that was very fun. It was time for Brandon and I to cut the cake and make a toast, but we couldn't figure out how to wrap our arms around one another. I believe you caught those moments always.”

Jasmine and Brandon, thank you so much for allowing me to help document your special day!
