Dancing the Night Away at Loray Mill: Amanda & David's Wedding

It’s been 6 months since Amanda and David said (well, danced) their I Do’s, and it’s about time I shared some of this amazing day on the blog!

I met Amanda and David at their engagement session, and it was immediately evident their love for each other. Both have such servants’ hearts—he’s a doctor, and she’s a teacher (so of course, kindred spirits!).

When I arrived to the Loray Mill Event Hall on July 23, 2023, I found Amanda in one of the loft apartments with all of her girls, grinning, laughing, and about as giddy as any bride I’ve ever seen! She was absolutely radiant and so excited for this big day, and David was equally full of energy and excitement as he waited to meet his bride.

Their first look was so special…David just melted when he turned around and saw Amanda. Both my second shooter Blakely and I could not stop clicking as they shared this special moment—one of my favorite moments of any wedding day!

Loray Mill is an exquisite venue with multiple spaces, and their ceremony was held in a beautifully lit space just adjacent to their reception hall, which was decorated to the nines! As Amanda and David read their vows to each other, both laughter and happy tears ensued, and when they were pronounced husband and wife, they literally jumped into the air and didn’t come down from the clouds for the rest of the day! They leaped into their reception with such energy, danced and sang their way through the first dance, and then continued the celebration with their friends and family until their exit—during a summer thunderstorm! All their dancing and energy in the clouds had to be released in some way!

It was such an honor to get to document this beautiful day for Amanda and David…there were so many wonderful people, friends and family who had traveled thousands of miles from other countries just to be present for this special day, and what a party it was. Loray Mill has quickly moved to the list of my favorite local venues because of so many picturesque spots in and around the recently refurbished mill. There’s even a tower that you can climb up into at sunset that has the most amazing natural light… of course, Amanda and David didn’t hesitate to go up there, allowing us to create some stunning portraits! These are the days that give me so much joy as a photographer, but also as a human. Thank you, Amanda and David, for giving me the blessing of capturing your love story!
