Happy Birthday to Me!!!

This month Kimberly Cauble Photography turned ten.  I’m TEN YEARS OLD, YA’LL!   Ten years ago, I would have never dreamed that my little side gig taking family portraits for friends and family would grow into a full-blown business that is continuing to thrive a decade later.  Over the last ten years, I have learned so much…some of the early photos I took make me cringe—my composition, exposure, and editing style has changed so much and improved tenfold (pun intended)!  But even so, many of you have stuck with me through the last decade, and for that, I am truly grateful!  Ten years later, I am still photographing some of my first clients, like Sarah (Jones) and Anna Keistler.  I photographed Sarah’s high school senior photos in September of 2012 and just shot her wedding in July of 2021, and I will be photographing her sister Anna’s wedding is coming up this December!   I think I have photographed the Hoffman family at least ten times over the years.  And Rena & McInnes, the Simmons and Williams families, the Olivieris, DeCuirs, Browns, Russells, and Watkins kids have come back for repeated senior and family sessions. I could not be more thankful for all of you wonderful people!

It all started back in the Fall of 2011 when I took some family photos with my in-laws, and several people commented that I had a good eye and should do something more with my photography. That little bug created an itch, and in early 2012 I scratched that itch by taking an intro to DSLR class with my friend Elyse at The Light Factory in Charlotte to learn how to use the camera that I had been shooting with since late 2006. I had a couple of families ask me to take their photos that Spring, and an extended family member asked me to step in at her wedding when her photographer bailed. That was all it took—I was hooked!

Since 2012, I have photographed 255+ family sessions, 88+ senior sessions, and 61+ weddings.  I’ve taken pictures of 13+ future moms and dads, 24+ newborns, and 10+ cake smashes!   I have dabbled in real estate photography and done headshots for 35+ professionals (including several authors, models, and a musician)!  And amongst all of these photo sessions and clients, I have made some amazing friends.   I’m not sure how I got so lucky to have all of you as a part my life over the last decade, but I am so grateful!

To celebrate this milestone year, I have some BIG surprises up my sleeve!  For one, I am adding on a new perk to booking a wedding with Kimberly Cauble Photography: 10% off any future photo sessions!   That means anniversary sessions, maternity sessions, newborn sessions, family sessions…I want to be around for all of your milestones!  And this doesn’t just go for new brides and grooms…ANY of my past brides and grooms will get 10% off any future bookings with me as well!  There will also be several dates this year—I’m calling them “milestone dates”—that I will announce a one-day-only-sale.  Anyone who books or buys a gift card for a particular type of session on those dates will receive 10% off!  Make sure you pay close attention to my social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook) so that you don’t miss out on any of these opportunities.  Or better yet, make sure you are subscribed to my VIP mailing list so that these announcements come straight to your inbox! Before I wrap this up, I’d like to extend a special thanks to all my 1st year clients: the Browns, Goffs, Hoffmans, DeJacimos, Terrys, Orsburns, Halls, DeCuirs, Petries, Belks, Oliveris, Keistlers, Pratts, Russells, Denise & Alan, Heather & Tony, Megan & Jared, Rena & McInnes, Jackson & Mary, the Hernandez, Simmons, Williams, and Watkins Families, and Tina Pearson.  Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to capture your families and special moments in your lives and for helping me launch my business! *If I left you out of my list, please let me know!  Back then I was delivering my galleries in such a variety of ways—via Shutterfly, CD, and finally, SmugMug and USB drives—so it was hard to go back that far!

This was legitimately the first time I had ever done a champagne spray, ha! Thanks so much to my dear friend and photographer, Siobhan Lorraine Photography, who also turns ten this year! We met in a class at The Light Factory ten years ago when she was a high school senior, and now she has a BOOMING wedding and lifestyle photography business. We still get together to talk shop, hang, and practice photography with each other! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIOBHAN!
